About Me

I'm a passionate PHP Full Stack Developer with expertise in building modern web applications. With a strong foundation in both backend and frontend technologies, I create seamless, user-friendly experiences that solve real-world problems.

My journey in web development has equipped me with a diverse skill set spanning from server-side programming with PHP to creating dynamic frontends with JavaScript. I believe in writing clean, maintainable code and following industry best practices.

Although my route to becoming a PHP Developer was slightly unconventional, it was enjoyable hard work that help me develop many skills. And now with many years experience in the field, I see myself as a very skilled developer, and still enjoy the work, and the continuing learning the industry requires.

I'm very much a team player and believe in, and enjoy, the camaraderie that can exist between members - helping each other by accessing each person's strengths. I'm also well experienced in self motivation and prioritisation to acheive the required timely outcome of any given task.

When I'm not coding, I enjoy the family life and various sports, such as Snooker, Weight Training and Swimming.

    • Develop and maintain internal systems and features across multiple PHP versions.
    • Debug, refactor, and optimise legacy code for performance and reliability.
    • Integrate webhooks and API's.
    • Manage large data volumes in multiple SQL databases.
    • Write Unit Tests using PHPUnit and Prophecy.
    • Collaberate using Bitbucket, ClickUp, and Slack.
    • Produce technical scopes and swimlane diagrams to support development planning.

      Edit Websites

    • Maintain and extend legacy projects in Codeigniter 3 with a focus on back-end.
    • Implement new features and adhere to internal coding standards and specifications.
    • Work with GitHub for version control, code reviews, and team collaboration.
    • Handle data across local and live SQL environments.

      Geotechnics Limited

    • Lead development for in-house core application using custom MVC framework and PHP.
    • Design intuitive UI and manage back-end structure and collaborate on overall app design.
    • Build additional company knowledgebase using PHP, HTML, CSS3, JavaScript and MariaDB.
    • Lead on all PHP application builds, from ideation, production planning through to execution.
